Donate them to a charity
‘The second sight project’ is a unique project helping to bring sight to people all over the world. Set up by Vision Aid, and with the help of Kodak lens they ask you to donate £1 along with your unwanted spectacles and help restore the sight to people in the developing world.
The Lions Club also operate a spectacle recycling scheme throughout the UK. Glasses can be posted to them for processing and they also operate different collection bins in many opticians and hospitals where you can place your old spectacles for recycling! These are then reused in many emerging countries where they are graded and sent to various eye clinics to help someone else.
