Yes, as the majority of your bicycle is metal, these parts can be recycled.
Find out if your local recycling centre has a mixed metals recycling facility, and if so take it in!
Firstly remove all other parts like the tyres, saddle etc.
Some recycling centres will ask for ID when you take the bike in so make sure you check beforehand.
There are a few organisations and charities who will happily take your old, possibly broken bicycle off your hands. It is then refurbished and either sold locally or sent to developing countries where it may make a big difference to someones life! If you are thinking of getting a new bicycles, some leading shops may offer a trade in service on your old bicycle. Another great program is Recycle Your Cycle which works in partnership with the HM Prison Service.
Other options….sell it! place an advertisement in your local newspaper or even give it away to someone else who may be able to appreciate it.
