Big Tidy Cleans Up

The big Tidy campaign has bagged over 50,000 bags of rubbish and in September will be celebrating its first birthday. 14,650 groups nationwide make up this fantastic scheme that is making our environment a nicer place to live in.

To put the amount collected into perspective, 50,000 bags of rubbish would fill around 714 skips, and items laid out in a line would stretch over 30 miles long.

With volunteers from schools and even businesses lending their hands, its great to see people with such eco-friendly spirit. Natalie Forrester the campaigns marketing coordinator quotes “We would like to say thank you to everyone who has taken part in a Big Tidy Up for helping us reach this landmark achievement.

“It is fantastic everyone has come together and made such a positive impact on their local environment and even better is the news our streets are now 50,000 bags of litter cleaner!”
